The mod revival was a music genre and subculture that started in England in 1978 and later spread to other countries although to a lesser degree.
The revival’s mainstream popularity was relatively short, although its influence has lasted for decades.
It was partly inspired by the 1979 film Quadrophenia (music composed by The Who) and by mod-influenced bands such as The Jam, Secret Affair, Purple Hearts and The Chords
There was also the influence of course from legends like The Who and The Small Faces who some bands tried to imitate not only in look but also sound. Continue reading
